Nutritional Composition of Four Underexploited Wild Fruits in Mali

Malnutrition and food insecurity are major concerns for the Malian authorities. The objective of this study was to strengthen knowledge about nutritional physicochemical values four underutilized edible wild fruits picked at two cities belonging different bioclimatic zones Mali. parameters were performed using standard methods. findings revealed that all these varied from one fruit another, outcome could be associated with provenances (p-value R. sudanica 5.34 g/100g DM those B. aegyptiaca, samples being harvested Sikasso. highest concentrations vitamins C (150,800 151,000 μg/100g DM), E (1,310 1,350 DM) A (38 40 respectively Z. mauritiana, aegyptiaca S. senegalensis. In addition, would constitute a potential source minerals such as iron, phosphorus calcium. Thereby, promising raw materials used against malnutrition linked micronutrients deficiencies management certain pathologies related oxidative stress.
